About 10xLabs

10xLabs is a student-run venture studio for founders who are looking to build the next innovative startup at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Through 10xLabs, we’re looking at things a bit differently. We believe that we need to address the gaps of student entrepreneurship through a new approach. Our focus at 10xLabs is to convert talented & experienced individuals into successful startup founders by:

• Spending a lot of time on ideation: We don’t fall in love with the ideas we generate unless they are viable from an economic/scalability perspective.
• Spending a lot of time on testing: Market research is not enough, we focus on testing every hypothesis we have about the idea before writing any line of code.
• Working with 3 to 4 founders per semester: This allows us to give the best resources to our founders and ensure that we are as involved as they are in the discovery phase.
• Offering great resources to our founders: Need to build a quick landing page? To design some UI/UX prototypes? To design a 3D prototype? Our in-house core team is there for you.

Responsibilities:

• Participate to ideation sessions with the team.
• Take the lead on at least one idea after joining the studio.
• Engage with the co-leads, core team, and community on your ideas.
• Be motivated to launch one startup at the end of the semester.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven leadership experience, such as leading a registered student organization (RSO) or managing a side project.
• Strong passion for startups, product development, and technology.
• Highly driven and motivated to pursue customer acquisition and idea validation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment and thrive in the face of challenges.
